Gold Dust Croton has dark green leaves which are splattered with bright yellow dots. The yellow spots will fade away on the new growth if the light is low. Croton Gold Dust plants are found in landscapes and indoors as houseplants solely for their good looks.
The plants grow to a maximum height of about 3 feet, although other members of the Croton family grow up to 6 feet, with a spread only about 2 feet wide. This is one of the most common cultivars for both indoor and outdoor use.Croton is typically offered as an indoor plant, but can also be used outdoors as a seasonal accent plant in containers or plantings of annuals or mixed ornamentals.

Rooting involves cutting a stem with at least three sets of leaves. A wound is created by removing the bottom set of leaves, and new roots form at the wound site. The stem is planted in a container filled with the lightweight potting mixture and then covered with plastic to create a greenhouse atmosphere.2. Air LayeringAir layering is a propagation technique in which a stem is rooted while its still attached to the plant. The process involves making a diagonal cut through one-third to one-half the diameter of the stem. The wound is treated with rooting hormone and kept open with a piece of toothpick or matchstick. Damp sphagnum moss is packed around the area, with the moss carefully covered with plastic wrap. When the stem roots, it is planted in a container filled with lightweight potting soil or a mixture of ingredients such as perlite, sand and peat moss.

Care Product Info
Potting: Plants do not need any special type of potting soil. Being tropical natives, they do well in any well-drained potting soil, rich with organic material. Use a mix of coco-peat, compost, and sand in a 20:60:20 ratio.
Watering: Overwatering is the chief cause of disease or loss of plant life. Do ensure that you don't overwater them. To get plants to show off their richly colored leaves, it is best to wipe them clean with moist tissue or cloth once every month. In drier months, misting them a few times a week could help improve humidity around the plant, helping them flourish.
Fertilising: Feeding your Plant a few times a year is a good way to get them to stay healthy. Give them some organic liquid fertilizer once or twice a year. Dilute it in water as described on the pack and add a little to each pot as part of your watering routine. If you are using a chemical fertiliser do ensure that you keep it away from the plant and its base.
Light:As a tropical plant that grows in the humid bright shade of tropical forests, this plant prefers similar conditions when grown as a houseplant. It dislikes full sunlight, preferring bright, indirect sun, such as that offered by north-facing windows. It will also thrive under fluorescent lights.
